Alejandro es Licenciado en Física en 2004 por la Universidad de Granada (UGR). Estuvo trabajando en el Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA-CSIC) entre 2008 y 2015 (ambos inclusive) como ingeniero óptico. En esa etapa fue el responsable del área de óptica del Observatorio de Sierra Nevada (OSN) y lideró el diseño, ensamblaje, integración y verificación del subsistema Exposure Meter del espectrógrafo CARMENES, cuya rama infrarroja fue desarrollada en el IAA para el Observatorio de Calar Alto. En 2017 obtuvo el grado de Máster en Astronomía y Astrofísica por la Universidad Internacional Valenciana (ViU) con el Trabajo Fin de Máster titulado "Búsqueda de splitting rotacional en el espectro de frecuencias de estrellas pulsantes tipo δ-Sct", evaluado con la máxima calificación (Matrícula de honor). Desde septiembre de 2019 es estudiante de doctorado en el IAA con un contrato predoctoral FPI bajo la supervisión de Rafael Garrido y Javier Pascual.

Además de su carrera científica, Alejandro es un entusiasta de la divulgación y, como tal, ha participado en numerosas actividades y charlas organizadas por la Unidad de Comunicación Científica del IAA.

Alejandro took his Degree in Physics at the University of Granada back in 2004. From 2008 to 2015 he worked at the IAA-CSIC as an Optics Engineer, having been head of the optics section at the OSN and having led the design, assembly, integration and verification of the Exposure Meter subsystem for the CARMENES spectrograph, whose infared branch was developed by the IAA Team for the Calar Alto Observatory. In 2017, Alejandro earned his Master's Degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Valencian International University with the work entitled "Búsqueda de splitting rotacional en el espectro de frecuencias de estrellas pulsantes tipo δ-Sct" (Search for rotational splitting in the frequency spectra of δ-Sct pulsating stars), which was marked with the highest grade with honors. Since september 2019, he is researching for his PhD Thesis at the IAA (with a FPI predoctoral contract) under the supervision of Prof. Rafael Garrido and Dr. Javier Pascual.

In addition to his research career, Alejandro is very fond of doing science outreach and, thus, he has a long trajectory giving talks and taking part in the activities organised by the IAA Outreach Team.
